Exemplary Leadership Analysis

We will be examining the five practices of exemplary leadership. The five practices are model the way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act and encourage the heart. Model the way and inspiring a vision link off of each other. For example, a leader is someone who others should be able to look up to (model the way), and in turn, be a leader who can inspire their employee to want to do better than they already are (inspire a shared vision). A leader declares their expectations and explains the proper process to do so. Then by following it and showing the success of the process, we are able to get others to share in and committed. Leaders not only have to find a voice but their voice is that of theirs and those that work for them. Through that we give people reasons to care, through that care we make commitments and from there we begin to form a unity in the team. …show more content…
Also, when it comes to challenging the process, great leaders will try to explore and find better, smarter ways to improve upon processes or outside elements that may affect the business now or later. I believe you tend to find employees who are unhappy when they have a leader who does not contribute, recognize or support different ideas from anyone besides themselves. Challenging the process involves a team effort and ideas from all involved not just the leader. For instance if you noticed that money was being wasted due to a process that could be done a cheaper way, a great leader would listen to the idea and give it a try if it makes the best sense for the entire business. Allowing your employees to challenge things and explore new outlooks together helps with the next practice, collaboration or enabling others to
