Autoethnography According to Francoise Lionnet, the word autoethnography is defined as the “defining of one’s subjective ethnicity as mediated through language, history and ethnogeographical analysis.” More simply put, it is the lens or perspective through which we see the world. People have many different understandings of the word location. The Urban Dictionary tells us location means a particular place or position. In my experience, location is cannot be defined by place, but its places. My family moved, on average, every two and a half years in my twenty-one years. I have lived in three different states, attended thirteen different schools, and in seventeen different living arrangements. Even though I have moved so much, I still consider myself a Texan.
