Domestic violence is everywhere around us and for some of us it is not something new. It comes in many forms physical, emotional, and psychological. The abuse is very real and when it starts we are the last to notice it. Nothing is worse then being the person on the outside looking in watching mothers, sisters, and friends go through it without being able to do anything is hard. The song by Eve called “Love is Blind” in the album Ruff Ryders ' First Lady (1999). This rapper tells the story about her best friend who was in an abusive relationship. that my girlfriend used to date you" lets you know that know that even though she does not know that guy she hates him and what he is doing to her friend. You can feel how Eve is not happy about the abuse that she is seeing unfold right before her eyes. Both songs talk about the same issue but take two different points on views. The music and lyrics of each song are made clear but in "Love is Blind" you understand right from the start. In "Take Your Time" the audience has to really listen to the song and the lyrics in order to understand the meaning of the song. In both songs the chorus really explains the audience what both artists are trying to express. Eve 's song "Love is Blind" explains how she watched her best friend first hand in front of her face be imprisoned in a domestic violent relationship which lead to her death. "How would you feel if she held you down and raped you?" that line tells you exactly what the song is about, but not only that she had so much anger in her voice you could feel it with ever word she said. Every line of each versus starts off more aggressive then the last the listener can feel that if things don 't change then things can end really bad, they are not sure if she will leave or not. The guitar plays the same hard cord throughout the whole song and Eve 's voice remains same as she puts emphasis on certain words and softens on the chorus.
