To start off it seems more plausible to give some history as to how divorce first started and it's roots. Originally divorce was supposed to be a cornerstone of liberty for women, however, the ones to experience the worst out of divorce are women due to them experiencing social and economic burdens. Most of divorce is contributed to have started in the West, with the most famous case being Henry VIII going against Pope Clement VII. Appropriate parenting includes providing emotional support, monitoring children’s activities, disciplining authoritatively, and so on. By doing so, it can be assured that child will experience a well rounded childhood even with the divorce. This seems reasonable throughout the novel considering that when the protagonist divorced Cecilia his own sons seemed extremely cold at the funeral of their own father. Nancy on the hand had her father present for critical point of her life, considering that he even offered to move in order to take care of her children after her own divorce to help diminish the amount of worries from her
