Events in my life have impacted my being in every way; the way I study, the way I think and act, the way I treat myself and others, the way I work, and the way I see life. Through almost losing the person who gave birth to me and through gaining knowledge as a human being, I can now be sure that I will be successful at the university as a student, in order to help myself become better in order to help others.
Growing up as an only child, I felt like I was alone all the time; I was in a room full of people feeling lonely. As a kid I wouldn’t see my parents much because I was in school in the morning and they were working both morning and afternoon. As a kid I didn’t appreciate the fact that they worked those 18 hours for me, to spoil me to give me that one toy I really wanted or that glittery cute set at Kohl’s. Later on it became even harder for me because when we were all together as a “family” they would always get into arguments and then just not talk to each other for weeks. I had no one to talk to. I had no one’s shoulder to cry on. Going through high school, I started to ditch classes and hang out with bad influences. I didn’t care because I felt like my parents didn’t care either. I was only affecting myself and my grades were going downhill. Going through this phase I was developing into a young adult. Through becoming an adult requires many experiences, one challenge had a greater impact than anything else.
