Overcoming Obstacles In My Personal Life

Decent Essays
• I overcome many obstacles in my personal life. When I was younger I went to foster care along with my three brothers. Reason being my mom was very sick and was in and out of the hospital, and my dad barely took care of me and my brothers. After long years in foster care at the age of nine my brothers and I were going to be adopted out, we were going to be separated. But my grandparents stepped in on time and got us. At the time we lived in Pennsylvania so we moved to Florida along with my grandparents because that’s where they lived. I was very happy, but it was cut short when my mom passed away soon after we moved. I knew right then and there I have to do great things in my life because I know in my heart she will be very happy for me. My mom always told me if you want something fight for it, don’t wait because if you do it may be too late. As for my dad he’s never been there for me, as far as I know he still lives in Pennsylvania.

This influenced me to be the first to graduate high school. Not only did I graduate first in high school but I graduated a year early in June 2015. Graduating a year early was no joke, it took dedication and hard work to complete 11th and 12th grade work in one year. My family history made me to do better than my family did, and to become a very strong willed fighter to be the best I can be in everything I do. All in all, it made me to be the hard working young woman I am today.

Maybe along the way I can learn many other things from UCF as well. Also I wanted a head start because most students who graduate from high school waits a year to figure out what they want to do with their life. But me I have my priorities straight on what I want to
