Ethics is an important factor in our lives, especially in the business world. Ethics is the code of moral principles and values that manage behaviors of a person or a group govern with respect to what is right or wrong. Ethics deals with internal values that are a part of corporate culture, and shapes decisions concerning social responsibility with the respect to the external environment. For some ethics can hard to understand, and it can be tricky to explain to someone in a way where they easily understand. However, one explanation to make it understandable is to divide human behavior into three different categories, ordered law, ethics and free choice. Codified law, are values and standards written into the legal system enforceable in the courts. Ethics, is a field that has no specific laws, however, it does have standards of conduct based on shared principles and values about moral conduct that guide an individual or company. Then there is free choice, which pertains to behavior where law has no say and individuals or organizations enjoy the freedom. Having a framework for business ethics is very important, it is important to have that structure so everyone within the organization is aware of and follows the same standards.
