1. In the pilot episode of suits Harvey Specter is promoted to senior partner at the law firm Pearson Hardman. However Harvey was caught lying to a client and in order to keep his new promotion he has to work on pro bono causes himself. It is company policy that all senior partners get an associate attorney and therefore Harvey needs to hold interviews for this position. Meanwhile at the same hotel that Harvey is doing his interviews at, Mike Ross (a college dropout) is delivering a case of marijuana for his friend Trevor when he realizes that he has been set up and he is walking into a sting operation. He fortunately realizes this quite quickly and manages to run away from the police and mistakenly sits for an interview for the associate …show more content…
Learners can further their understanding of the different management and leadership styles as the three main ‘leaders’ in the episode( Harvey, Jessica and Louis) carry out different leadership styles and these leadership styles can be seen in practice. Corporate governance is a complex topic that can be further understood by watching this episode of suits as it deals with some issues such as accountability, fairness, integrity and discipline (not firing Harvey etc.)
3. There are three main leaders/ managers in the pilot episode of suits: Harvey, Jessica and Louis.
Harvey: Harvey has a Laissez Faire leadership style. Laissez faire is a French word that means no interference. Managers inform workers what must be achieved, but do not get involved in telling workers how these objectives should be achieved. This style can be seen when Harvey gives Mike the pro bono cases to do, he tells Mike that he must win the case but does not tell him how he should achieve that objective. When things in the case go wrong, Harvey tells Mike that he should fix the mistakes and win back Joanna but does not tell him how to do it or how to approach it.

If they already have one then it needs to be enforced more strictly. A code of ethics is an umbrella concept defining the morals, principles and values under which an organisation operates. It denotes the professional responsibility the business has to society as well as other aspects such as honesty, integrity and humanity.
Ethics Board: An ethics board is a board of people that will enforce the concepts and principles that are stated in the code of ethics. The ethics board will deal with all matters that within Pearson Hardman that have to deal with Ethics. They will also decide on the solutions to the ethical problems and take action, such as investigation into ethical issues and make all decisions regarding ethical issues, when necessary.
A code of ethics and an Ethics board go hand in hand. This will help solve issues such as Harvey not being fired and Louis’ behaviour/ attitude towards the associates. The code of Ethics and ethics board will give no special treatment to any person because of their position at the firm but will treat everyone with fairness and
