When oil was found in Winkler for example the divorce rates went from 22.9 percent to 35.7 percent from 19228 to 1929. In 1927 the divorce rates in Ector were 19.4 percent. In 1928 they were 47.7 percent. The rates everywhere went from one out of every five people to one in every two
