She, Peaches, was born in the summer of 1981 to a teenage mother. She was 7 pounds 13 ounces, healthy and beautiful. She was perfect. After a few days of recovery in the hospital it was time to go home. Her mother was dressed and sitting on the edge of the bed holding her when the family of the woman sharing her room came to visit. They commented on how precious she looked and asked where the mother was. Her mother was pale with light blonde hair and blue eyes and she was very dark skinned with black hair and dark eyes. However, that all changed quite quickly. Within a few months of her birth Peaches experienced her first life altering event. Suddenly her mom was gone and her grandparents were raising her, whom she calls Nanny and Papa. Although Peaches misses her mom and wonders what happened and who her dad is, she’s finds she is happy with her Nanny and Papa, they love and spoil her just as grandparents should.
She’s been told many stories of how she came to be raised by her grandparents over the years. Her nanny would tell her things like, “Your mom was immature”, “She was not ready for a baby”, “She was on drugs”, “She abandoned you”. Her mom would tell her, “It was only supposed to be temporary, while I found my own place”, “Your nanny kicked me out and wouldn’t let me take you”, “I had no money to fight her and by the time I did it was already too late”, “I always wanted you, don’t listen to the lies she tells you”, “I never abandoned you”.
