Muscle tissue is one of the four tissues types that exist in the human body. There are three different muscle tissues, skeletal, cardiac, and smooth. Skeletal muscle tissue cells are long, striated, and have many nuclei. Cardiac muscle tissue, just like the skeletal is also in striations. These cells are short and branched. Unlike, the skeletal muscle tissue these cells die single nucleated. They are connected by intercalated discs. Smooth muscle tissue is not striated. Its Cells are short and spindle shaped. The cardiac muscle is also nucleated. In a Cardiac Muscle is a T-tube. A T tube is a tubular invagination of the sarcolemma of skeletal or cardiac muscle fibers that surrounds myofibrils as the intermediate element in the skeletal muscle and the diad in cardiac muscle. The T tubules in a cardiac muscle cell are short and broad and no trades. The T tubules encircle the sarcomeres at the Z lines rather than at the zone of overlap. The Z lines are any of the dark bands across a striated muscle fiber. Cardiac muscle cells are almost totally dependent on aerobic metabolism to obtain the energy needed to continue contracting. Smooth muscle occurs within almost every organ, forming sheets, and bundles, around other tissues. Smooth muscle fiber has no T tubules. It has no sarcomeres or …show more content…
The skeletal muscle moves the skeleton and is responsible for all of our movements. Skeletal muscles are voluntary muscles, which means you can control what they do. Skeletal muscles are held to the bones with the help of tendons. An example is: Tory went to baseball practice and she knew she would be using her deltoids which are the primary muscles of the shoulder. Both pitcher and batter would be using them.
