In this experiment, Dr. Barker had her sample fill out a short questionnaire about themselves. Next, the sample had an hour group discussion about their experiences in the social work programs while their discussion was filmed and transcribed. Based on their discussion, the results show the level of discrimination in the program. Many students said that, they felt limited because there was not a variety of opinions on big topic issues and that everyone is supposed to believe a certain way. Many of the sample felt oppressed since they could not voice their belief. The student body was not willing to accept them for their Christian viewpoints, and one participant even said how the staff treated her differently because she came from a Christian university (Barker, 2013, p. 6-11). This study also provides additional support that Cochran faced discrimination because he was not allowed to voice his opinions, beliefs and thoughts in his workplace. Many people do not accept the Christian viewpoint on many hot topic issues and sometimes that causes them to not be taken seriously.
