The United States can gain resources, money and power. The scramble for Africa was an event of the past so the United States colonizing South America does not mean war. There is an opportunity in which both countries can benefit. Even though there is a chance that both countries can benefit from the colonization of South America it is a big risk to take. It’s important to remember that millions of lives could be lost. When Europe attempted to colonize Africa war started, a permanent European culture stamp was left, terror was developed. (McCormack, 2006) This was all caused because of the European selfishness and hunger for resources. In conclusion the negative effects overpower the positive effects of colonizing South America. Culture, Land and Lives would be lost in the process which is why the United States let history repeat itself. The United States is supposed to boost growth instead of destroy it. Colonizing South America would destroy growth and possibly cause a war both within and without the country. So it’s important to prevent history repeating itself but not colonizing South America
