Civil rights are rights given to everyone under fair use, they protect citizens from discrimination. Anyone and everyone is to be protected despite their details, like their gender, sexuality, race, and looks. An important person, Thomas Jefferson, states that we have the right to pursue whatever makes us happy. People should be able to do things that make them happy, like applying a label to themselves or just being whoever they are. On the other hand, people who are just being who they want to be are being bashed for whatever. There’s no way to stop that from happening, so I say we just learn to deal with it. The thing is that there are people who are disabled and discriminated against because they don’t have the right materials. There are also African Americans, Native Americans, women, and others in another community.
Disabled people, coming back from the war, had disadvantages since they lost opportunities others have and had. For starters, people with problems that can be fixed are not considered disabled. The african american group went and demanded racial equality, their leaders were Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King (along with his son). In the thirteenth amendment, slavery became illegal, but the african americans were still being treated terribly. The Jim Crow laws became the main problem since the blacks and whites were made separate. Of course, the blacks got the bad and weak side.
