“The Equal Pay Act of 1963 requires equal pay for both male and female if the job includes equal work, require equivalent skills, effort and responsibility; and are performed under similar working conditions, However, it is not unlawful to have pay differences due to seniority systems, merit systems, and systems that measure earnings by production quantity or quality from any factor other than sex does not violate this act (Equal Opportunity and the Law).” If an employer violated the Equal Pay Act, they could face a lawsuit.
