Epilogue To The Odyssey

As they were leaving the Island Of Cyclops. Odysseus had told his men to close the ports. His men asked “Why do we need to? The weather looked fine”. Odysseus had replied by the looks of the sky, a storm was soon to appear. They were sailing through the ocean, the water became hard to maneuver. The men yelled we need to stop and Odysseus agreed. As they rested on the boat for the water to settle. The sky had turned darker and rain began to drop. As water began filling the boat, the men started to panic. Odysseus became furious because he had told his men to close the ports, knowing this might happen. They were thinking about how to resolve this problem. They heard a voice saying “I know an idea”. Then Odysseus knelt and scooped a handful of water to wash his face. But a voice yelled “STOP”. Odysseus trembled and the water fell out his hand. They all looked at each other as if they had grown another head. The voice spoke again “What are you scared of”. One of the men pointed and said, “It is the water it is talking”. The water laughed that caused the boat to shake. Odysseus interrupted and said “You said you had an idea”. The water replied “Indeed I do, under the dock floor you will find a bucket. One man asked “What are we supposed to do with this?” The water said “Duh, you are going to use it to scoop out the water”. As Odysseus was about to speak the water said “Watch out for there is a problem ahead” and with that the rain had stopped and the sky had cleared. The men began to rejoice that the rain had stopped. But as they were jumping and hollering one of the men were sitting on the edge of the boat in shock of what just happened. The men who were rejoicing caused the boat to shake, making the men sitting on the edge to drown. The men stopped noticing what they had caused. Odysseus told his men “Let us scoop out he water out the boat and head on our way”. The men did as Odysseus instructed them to
