Emerging technology refers to technology that has the capacity to either refine the existing technology enabling it to be better or using the existing technology as a basis for evolution in technology (Rotolo, Hicks, & Martin, 2015). New technology may result from a number of changes for example the convergence of previously separate technologies to create one new technology or the divergence of previously related technology into individual technologies. However, it is important to note that, whether by convergence or by divergence, emerging technologies are only useful if the newer technology is deemed more efficient that it predecessor. Emerging technologies are of great importance as they change the way things are done in the modern world. Due to the impact of emerging technology, people can trade all round the globe, communication is faster and cheaper to make and transport is more convenient enabling people to travel through continents within hours. Industrial processes have become more efficient as a result of use of robots that perform unpleasant of dangerous tasks thus have greatly enhanced production (Al Saeed, 2012).
