She did so in New York, naming it the Women’s Medical College of New York Infirmary. This college held a very competitive, yet very comprehensive and well-structured program. Many women that attended the Women’s Medical College of New York Infirmary were very successful in completion. One woman that stood out most was Sophia Jex-Blake because she established her own Women’s Medical College in London. Not very long after Elizabeth established her own Women’s Medical College, she returned to England. In England, she set up her own private practice in which she served as a lecturer at London School of Medicine for Women. Then Elizabeth decided to move again, but not too far from Hastings, England. On May 31st, 1910 Elizabeth passed away in her home here due to falling down the stairs after a stroke that paralyzed half of her body. Blackwell left behind a great impact on American History as a female Physician and will forever be a role model to those that dream of becoming
