College is a place that wants to help their students make better choices for themselves. Cigarettes can affect people internally and externally with the toxic chemicals that it contains. Young adults gain an interested in smoking cigarettes because of the influence they receive from other people. Smoking on college campuses should be unacceptable because students could look for other opportunities to handle their problems. If colleges banned the use of smoking cigarettes on campus, it can lower the number of secondhand smokers and reduce the rate of health deterioration in a person that smokes cigarettes. The effect of smoking on college campuses affects people that do not smoke since they have to inhale the same smoke-infested air circulating around.

If colleges controlled students smoking habits, it would be beneficial by reducing the health conditions that cigarette smokers have. Once a person begins smoking cigarettes they will become addicted. This goes to say he or she would constantly have an urge to smoke; especially if the cigarette smoker is under stress and look to cigarette as a way of releasing their issues. . Smoking cigarettes can be more damaging to the human body than most people think. According to Center for Disease Control and Prevention, indicates that smoking harms nearly every organ in the body, causing many diseases and/or cancer almost anywhere in the body. Smoking is the leading cause of deaths in the United States amongst men and women. Knowing the damage that smoking cigarettes can cause to the body should be enough for colleges to take action and have the privilege to save peoples live.
