ASU Resolution to Support a Smoke Free Campus

Whereas, ln 2006, the United States Surgeon General concluded that:

1. A risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke does not exist.
2. Neither separating smokers from non-smokers nor installing ventilation systems effectively eliminates secondhand smoke

Whereas, using tobacco products is a danger to health and a cause of material annoyance, inconvenience, discomfort, and a health hazard to other persons

Resolve that, through the authority of Government Code sec 7597 East Los Angeles College enforce Los Angeles Community College District Smoking/Non-Smoking administrative regulation B-6.

Resolve that, if more restrictive policies are adopted a notice of updated policy will be published
