Smoking Cigarettes In Southwestern Michigan College

Smoking cigarettes are addictive physically and a habit psychologically. The addictive substance in cigarettes is nicotine. “Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of preventable disease and death in the United States, accounting for more than 480,000 deaths.” It is estimated more than 40 million people in the U.S are cigarette smokers. Many colleges in the state of Michigan have smoke-free campuses. I believe Southwestern Michigan college should also be a smoke-free campus.
When you are exposed to someone who is actively smoking you are in fact inhaling the tobacco in addition to the smoker. This phenomenon is called Passive smoking, passive smoking is also known as Second-hand smoking. Second-hand smoke is also harmful. Any exposure to smoke
