During the print era not only did it foster nationalism but it also helped nourish the idea of individualism. “People came to rely less on their local community and their commercial, religious, and political leaders for guidance.” With this being said people began to be themselves and show that they were independent and not followers. During the electronic era it gave the people a sense of communication without the hassle of how it was going to get across. It “made it easier for military, business, and political leaders to coordinate operations.” The electronic era also impacted the daily life of people due to the arrival of the television. With the television they were able to be more involved with what was going on and they now had entertainment within their homes. The digital era was a moment in time where it greatly impacted and influenced a persons’ life because it changed the way people communicated. The Internet has not only changed the way people perform everyday task but it has also reinvented the forms of traditional media. For instance you can find oral communication through the use of e-mails or social media websites. Although I love the emerging media, I feel that it is killing our face to face interaction. Since we are able to communicate with our friends and family through text or e-mail, we no longer have the needs to get in our cars and meet up with them to see how they are doing.
