Education is a process that involves the transfer of knowledge, habits and skills from one generation to another through teaching, research and training (Education). It can be in a formal or informal setting. Formal education involves institutionalized learning based on a curriculum. In today’s society, education and learning play a huge role in shaping the lives of individuals and the society as a whole. What we aren’t realizing is that being educated is not just what we learn at school. Education is more than just learning from books. Despite the countless classrooms I have sat in, the hundreds of pages of notes I have taken, and the thousands of lectures I have listened to, I have realized that, many of life’s greatest lessons are not those that we learn from school, from books, or even from the internet, but many of life’s greatest lessons are those learned from the world around us. My family have been my greatest teachers. For many of us we would consider our parents to be our greatest teacher for they have taught us the basics of life and so much more. They taught us how to walk, how to talk, how to face problems, and even things as random as how to fix a flat tire on your bike so you wouldn’t bother them every time it happened. But aside from all the things they are required to teach us as parents, they have taught us many valuable lessons that they themselves may not even realize they are doing.
