In swimming and weightlifting sports, doping issues became a matter arouse people’s attention. According to Aisch and Lai, the journalists of the New York Time, Two of the more prominent athletes, Chinese swimmer Sun Yang and Russian swimmer Yulia Efimova who have been suspended for doping and competed in the Rio Olympics, became the targets of criticism by their competitors. The Australian swimmer Mack Horton directly claimed Sun Yang is a drug cheat and he ignored him, and the American swimmer Lily King publicly derided Efimova many times since she had positive test records (Aisch & Lai, 2016; Associated Press, 2016). These frictions happened in swimming pool reflected the distrust between athletes, and the distrusts also happened in the weighting competition. Some athletes who did not get medals publicly stated that they suspected some medal winners and hope improve standards (Associated Press, 2016). Mercedes Isabel Perez of Colombia was waiting for doping test after she took forth in the women’s 63-kilogram event, and she had confidence she could climb on the podium (Associated Press, 2016). Then, the research presents the doping issues happened in the Rio Olympics and claims the doping issues caused the clean athletes losing their trust in the International Olympic Committee and made the audience questioned the fairness and justice of the Olympic Games. In the end, the research notices the ISO’s response to the doping issues, such as changing Olympic charter, requesting WADA establish an independent entity for testing and results, and re-testing the samples from athletes in previous Olympics.
