As we proceed, the thing that got my attention, the subsidiary contrast, was the woman (the mother, so I am told). She takes up one third of the image, has dark sleek hair, and is dressed in seemingly dark clothes. She looks calm and indifferent to what will, or has just happened. It puzzles me, as I have not seen the film myself. My eyes wander between the woman, and the man on the left - and the difference between them is astonishing.
