In the movies these princesses in act of rebellion or in honor of their family have broken what have been a cultural stereotype for decades. “The redesigns are in conflict with the films, which show Mulan hating the makeup that the matchmaker had put on her, or when Merida violently tugging at the oppressive fashions she has to wear.”(469) Although many in the entertainment industry still have a difficult time redirecting their attention to the ongoing change reducing the gender stereotypes it is clear there is an ongoing movement to ensure both genders have equal opportunity. For example celeberty women used to only get questions on panels and such about the type of clothing they wore. Slowly but surely as a nation we are progressing into a society that can accept everyone and give both genders equal opportunity to do and be whoever they want. In the t.v. show “Little Einsteins” the characters all have favorite hobbies they enjoy. June, one of the two females on the show for example has an interest in astronomy giving young girls the idea to head into a STEM program. They also include her interest in dance to show girls they can be anybody they want. Another example is Leo, he is the leader of the group and although that in itself could be the start of a gender stereotype he makes sure everyone is participating and giving credit showing a strong leadership standpoint. At the end of every episode, all the participants that helped are applauded showing the importance of hard
