It highly reflects upon western civilization which is only because of the imperialism and colonialism that we faced. Thanks to our freedom fighters. If not our so called rich culture and heritage would have been in the rags like the other countries which were colonized by the west. It’s only their struggle which saved the country and its culture from the British. In ancient India, monarchya form of government existed. Due to that the people then were not politically sound and the political culture was insular in nature. The concept of political culture was highly localized. However, things took a u-turn in the future. With the entry of the British the different kingdoms in India came into the hands of a single political power entity. The thought and discontaintment of the Indians during the British era made them realize their rights and duties. This marked as a change in Indian political culture. Earlier politics in India was confined to a certain sect of people but slowly politics became a much wider concept than ever before. It started gaining national importance at that point of time. The national movements for freedom struggle made people politically sound. After the exit of British from India in 1947, India embraced the parliamentary form of government.
