True love can be defined as many things put into one. In the story,”Desiree’s Baby”, many wonder whether Desiree and Armand were considered “true love”. Their love really wasn’t considered true love because if Armand truly love Desiree, he wouldn’t have easily given up on her and would’ve accepted the baby for what he was, they grew separate and their relationship tore apart, and neither Armand nor Desiree did much to reconstruct their relationship and they were just being selfish and not thinking about the baby.

That crack in between is always going to affect you one way or another. That’s one of the reasons why couples fall apart. Like Desiree and Armand never really did much to help each other out or keep their love alive. Once Armand got angry and just sought away with their problems, they just kept turning their backs on each other. They were to the point where neither of them thought for the baby and how the baby was going to be brought up. They had so much hatred towards each other and such embarrassment towards the baby that everything just broke down completely. Things happened the way they did for a reason. Maybe it wasn’t their destiny to be together forever. Maybe things would’ve turned out a lot worse for either both of them if Armand hadn’t let Desiree go that day with the baby.
