Definition Essay: What Does Friendship Mean?

Friendship is a word that can have multiple meaning for different people. A lot of people may say that friendship is just the relationship between two people who enjoy talking to each others, hanging out with one another or just someone who is nice to them. Also, a lot of the time, people can also misunderstand what exactly friendship is. The standard definition of friendship is the emotions or conduct of friends; the state of being friends. However, friendship to me, is something that brings support, joy and makes you who you are. For example, when I say that friendship is something that brings support, I mean the friends that are there to support you through your dreams, goals, life, etc. Friends are people who support you in what you want to do, not to just give encouraging words and not be there. I find that a lot of people don’t really think about that when decide to be in a friendship with someone just because they’re nice or because they talk to that person once in awhile. For instance, in high school people assume they have a lot of “good friends” who supports them.
