In freshman year I moved out of the school district with my mother, my brother, and my mother's boyfriend while my father moved into my old house. I was now left with two options: I could either continue to enroll in school at Massabesic High School or I could transfer to Kennebunk High School. See, my mother was just going to drive me to my existing bus stop every morning if I stayed at Massabesic but changing schools was starting to peak my interest. I started doing some research on both schools, making a compare and contrast chart while my knowledge grew. I looked at academics, statistics, student-to-teacher ratio and the whole nine-yards.…

I decided to do a little research on Burgess Elementary. It was named after superintendent, Joseph Burgess, in 1963, because he was a hardworking man, and was rewarded for it. Why I chose Burgess elementary was because it was a piece of my childhood and during pre-school, which was a time rare time of me being stress free, not worrying about adult responsibilities, just to learn, and have fun. I was able to see the contrast to how I perceived the building to what the name of the place stood for, by how impactful it was towards me and how Joseph Burgess impacted the building.…

I never imagined that simulation could be effectively used to bring a new environment to teach students. Specifically to “simulate” rural conditions (Hendrickx, Foerster, Hansen & Tschetter, 2014). However, I’m not very “fond” of simulation and particularly don’t like learning that way, unless it is strictly necessary. On the other hand, this is a very interesting article. It reports how a nursing school developed a program to overcome their population’s needs.…

The collegial institution remains one in which there is no hierarchy and everybody has the opportunity to participate in all decisions that are being made (Manning, 2013). The president does not deem himself the power and authority over all faculty and staff, in fact, he and every person are able to give their input and opinions during all meetings. This encourages lengthy discussions to ensure every voice is heard as well as to promote healthy conclusions made by the administrator. Since both faculty and administration work together to solve the problem, no rash decisions are made and clear solutions are created. The collegial model leads to expert opinions, persuasion, and negotiation between all those who are partaking in the decision…
