Well the place that I've chosen to write about is KM. I learned about Kent meridian when I moved to Kent in third grade. As my middle school years were coming to an end I asked some people who went to KM what it was like and looked up some pictures of my own. I waved to my mom and dad goodbye before I hopped onto the bus with my best friend Naomi. It took about three hours before we finally arrived to our destination, but we spent the time by blasting music and fooling around. Stepping out onto the cracked asphalt, dozens of eyes gleamed at the sight in front of us. Before we stepped foot into the building, the tour guide stated some facts about the odd place. Construction began in 1858 in the small town of Weston and completed in 1881.…

In freshman year I moved out of the school district with my mother, my brother, and my mother's boyfriend while my father moved into my old house. I was now left with two options: I could either continue to enroll in school at Massabesic High School or I could transfer to Kennebunk High School. See, my mother was just going to drive me to my existing bus stop every morning if I stayed at Massabesic but changing schools was starting to peak my interest. I started doing some research on both schools, making a compare and contrast chart while my knowledge grew. I looked at academics, statistics, student-to-teacher ratio and the whole nine-yards.…

It is important to focus on building relationships of mutual trust, confidence, and respect for diverse families. After completing the observations, the anti-bias curriculum is a must to reflect the culture and background of the families and children in the program. Many families I work with are low income. Ethnography: Observing the Upper Quad The location chosen was strategic, to see how people reacted, and what kind of people would come around this particular spot. The location was the upper quad while sitting down at the concrete benches to have a full view of the upper quad at Mars Hill University. This location gave full viewing opportunities to not one, but six buildings on the upper quad: Spilman, Marshbanks, McConnel, Business Building, Rural Heritage Museum, and the Founders Hall, which does not include other buildings like: Moore, Day and Cornwell, which impacted the observation as well.…

The Lava Beds National Monument, I believe would be a great place for students to learn about nature. Located on the border of California and Oregon, the lonely road leads to something amazing. To something some may consider as California's "best kept secret." The Lava Beds National Monument, is one of the most visited national monuments in America. It attracts only one hundred thirty thousand visitors each year but the "secret" underground caves and volcanic rock of the park is full of thrilling sights and history.…

Maquoketa, upon my initial impression when I moved here in 2012, was a small quiet town and although that is something that I now I know it is also so much more. I was in middle-school when I first came but it was in high school that I truly grew to appreciate the wonderful community. My first year of high school was certainly unnerving, although I had previously attended an elementary and middle school that were more than double its size it still held an allure of suspense over what may soon come.…
