I decided to do a little research on Burgess Elementary. It was named after superintendent, Joseph Burgess, in 1963, because he was a hardworking man, and was rewarded for it.
Why I chose Burgess elementary was because it was a piece of my childhood and during pre-school, which was a time rare time of me being stress free, not worrying about adult responsibilities, just to learn, and have fun. I was able to see the contrast to how I perceived the building to what the name of the place stood for, by how impactful it was towards me and how Joseph Burgess impacted the building.
