Having spent ten years of my life in a small village in the southeast portion of Iran and the remaining thirteen in the United States, I have come to feel at home in two worlds; possessing native competency in the languages, cultures, and logics that dominate the spheres of thinking in both nations. Upon immigrating to the Unites States, neither I nor my family members spoke any English. I recall the first day I sat in a class in the U.S.—it was my fourth grade class and I was the only student who did not know how to spell their name. I was the top student in all of my classes in Iran, but here, I was struggling with the alphabet. I made CSUN’S Speech-Language Pathology graduate degree the goal that defined the trajectory of my undergraduate studies, work, and relevant activities. Having already spent three years at CSUN for my undergraduate studies in Speech-Language Pathology, I am certain it is the best place for me to continue my studies. The distinguished faculty at CSUN’s Speech-Language Pathology program not only possess field experience in all aspects of the profession, but go out of their way to ensure student success. Furthermore, CSUN’S program values both research and service. Ingrained in my mind is the memory of one of my professors telling us she provides therapy to underprivileged clients free of charge. Not only does CSUN have inspirational faculty, but their distant program’s cohort format further fosters and creates an intellectual community between the professors and the students. Such a format is especially attuned to my learning style and will serve to be tremendously beneficial for me. With such faculty expertise and academic support, I am certain CSUN’s Speech-Language Pathology masters program is the ideal program through which my professional goals can be
