Communication competence requires both knowledge and the performance, according to Spitzberg (1988) ‘communicative competence is the ability to interact well with others, the term “well” refer to a positively valence judgement of quality (Intrinsic Attractiveness – positive valence, or Aversiveness – negative valence)’. For majority of the people communication is just a talk or conversation, it’s a natural event. Communication focuses on how we use message to generate our meaning within and across various context, cultures, channel and media. You may have the knowledge and know certain rules of communication but if you do not know how to deliver it in accordance to the one you are talking to or your crowd, then how can you communicate effectively, maybe you lack in practice. Gaining competence can be achieve by accepting the challenges in communication that we face in our day to day activity, understanding it, reflecting and our willingness to accept constructive feedbacks from the others we can then enhance our ability and be more confidence with the way we communicate with other people.
