Effective Communication
Communication is more than just the ability of speech; it is also the way the individual express his or her thoughts through body language. Effective communication is something that is taught not everyone can talk to others without struggling to relay what he or she is trying to explain. The thing about communicating to people that is taking steps to get every point across because each man and woman is his or her pathway of comprehending the way society and the world works.
There are at least four skills to mastering effective communication such as number one being a good listener. This is the most important stage because for someone to hear what he or she has to say the talker has to pay attention also. These two stages help when having to step of the of the comfort zone. It is stressful for some tell a part of his or her journey rather is school, job and personal. Everyone has to talk in front of a stranger at some point in his or her life. When the pressure starts to build it makes it difficult to stand and feel confident about the information being displayed to others. Practicing relaxing techniques before talking can help decrease rapid heart rates, muscle tightening, and stumbling over words. Finding a focus point and believing in his or herself transforms the speaker into an effective communicator.
Too bad that these skills do not always translate into the medical world. Communication tends to be sometimes more challenging on the provider part and also the patients. Health care communication has changed from personal to electronic. Nurse aids can give information over the phone that can be a pro and con. The positive side is that it saves time from having to go outside, but it does not always give the patient all the facts he or she needs a rational
