Analysis Of Collgate Optic White Toothpaste

My product is Colgate Optic White Toothpaste (travel size). I believe consumers would buy this product out of convenience and specialty. The reason I feel this product would be bought for convenience is due to the size of the toothpaste. The travel size toothpaste is easy to take along when traveling. Also, if you are running short on money the travel size toothpaste are considerably cheaper than the regular size toothpaste. There may be a time when you need just enough to get by until you can afford to buy a full tube. The specialty reason would be due to the consumer specific need of wanting whiter teeth. Regular toothpaste does not have whiting effects. This particular brand, optic white, guarantees whiter teeth in one week. This product …show more content…
Optic white logo is also in red; however, the word WHITE is capitalized and it has a light on the end of the word. This light lets consumers know that they should expect to get whiter, brighter teeth, like a flash of light in a sense. The packaging on the travel size toothpaste also has the line “whiter teeth in one week” in all white letters with a darker red background, so the line can stand out away from the rest of the box. There is also another light at the end of that line, giving the consumers an idea of how white their teeth should be and also giving them a time line as to how long it should take before they see any results. By giving consumers a time frame of how long it should take, takes the worry out of knowing whether the product works or not. Many individuals want results NOW, especially when it is concerning their outer appearance. Daily anticavity fluoride toothpaste and enamel safe is in smaller letters in all white with the red background. This information is in smaller letters and doesn’t stand out as much as the rest of the information on the box. Even though this information is important, the main thing the company want you to know about this particular product is that it whitens teeth in one week and that it tastes good. The bottom portion of the box is in silver and has the flavor or the toothpaste and a diagram indicating that the toothpaste inside the tube is …show more content…

The advertisement invokes curiosity and uses sexual innuendos to tempt the viewer into buying the Altoid mints. The words written across the ad,”First time?”, implies two things; firstly that the two people in the ad are both trying Altoids for the first time and a hidden secondary element implying that the couple are attempting their first act of sexual intercourse. The text itself is a deep shade of red, and stands out strongly against the dimmer background of the advertisement, drawing our attention to it. The text also has a white underline to it so as to be calming and more aesthetically pleasing. The color also acts as a counterbalance to the intense red color and depicts the vibrant and pure color of the mints.…

These areas are back of the teeth, front of the teeth, under and above the braces and brackets, your gums and all the usual places you brush your teeth in. It is recommended to use soft bristled and apply moderate force when you are brushing. In Secrets from the Science of Persuasion Cialdini and Martin discuss “the factors that influence us to say yes” (2012). One would think that people make decisions based on all of the information available, however, this is not the case in most circumstances. 1. Fillings Could Be Doing More Harm Than Good A recent study by the Nordic Institute of Dental Materials in Oslo, Norway has brought to light the damages inflicted on surrounding teeth when a cavity is filled. No matter what materials are used, the procedure causes surface abrasions to other teeth and the study suggests that damage is leading to decay, which leads to more cavities, which in turn leads to even more fillings. You might think news like this, also supported by research from the British Dental Association, would cause the industry to come to a grinding halt, until the truth of the matter is ultimately revealed; however, these studies are instead being swept under the rug, to the fear and disbelief of many concerned consumers (particularly…

Personally, I feel the essay, "What's in Your Toothpaste," is written in what the author feels is a humorous tone. The author, David Bodanis, writes, "Dripping a bit from the tap onto your brush would cost virtually nothing; whipped in with the rest of the toothpaste the manufacturers can sell it at a neat $2 per pound equivalent. " Not only in this quote but throughout the essay the reader can pick up on a humorous tone through the author's word choice. I would describe this essay as being written in a sensational tone as well. The language throughout the essay can heighten the reader's curiosity.…
