WHY IT IS IMPORTANT YOUR TEETH CLEAN WHEN YOU HAVE BRACES
It is very important to keep your teeth clean, especially when you have braces. You could get Gingivitis, cavities, Halitosis and many other issues. In this paper, I will address the issues that come with bad oral hygiene and how to have and keep a healthy mouth. Plaque can build up on teeth. Plaque can get into hard to reach spaces, especially with braces since it can hide between the brackets and wires. Plaque is a sticky and colorless lump of bacteria, saliva, and food which turns into a gooey white substance that sticks to teeth, which will build up on your teeth over time, and can build up anywhere in the mouth and can be hard to reach spaces. Some of those things are decalcifications a.k.a white spots, gingivitis a.k.a gum disease, and periodontitis. In order to have healthy teeth, it is advised to brush about 4 times a day, after eating breakfast, after eating lunch, after eating dinner, and before going to sleep. If you can’t brush after a meal, then flush out your mouth with water. You should also floss at least once a day. It is also important to visit your orthodontist at least every 6 months or less. It is also important to brush well and in all the proper areas. These areas are back of the teeth, front of the teeth, under and above the braces and brackets, your gums and all the usual places you brush your teeth in. It is recommended to use soft bristled and apply moderate force when you are brushing. Brushing should last a little bit longer than normal, but still about near the 2-3 minute mark, or about the average length of a song. It is also recommended to use a fluoride toothpaste in order to help fight tooth decay a little bit better than the average toothpaste. You also need to replace your toothbrush every 3 months or every time the bristles gets stiff or worn down. You can also get an Interdental toothbrush.
