Increasingly, small to mid size entities (SMEs) are reducing large portions of their Information Technology (IT) teams to adopt cloud computing architectures. They are moving away from traditional in house computing and opting for Software as a Service (SaaS) and the other categories of cloud based computing as a replacement. Organizations seek cost benefits, technical agility, process specialization, and the shifting of governance tasks and responsibilities. They look to be more nimble and competitive in global business markets.

Implementation of cloud payroll, CRM and accounting systems are some of the easiest ways for SMEs to experience the cloud benefits.
SMEs who have migrated or are considering migrating to cloud computing solutions see their moves as a means to better manage Information Technology (IT) costs. By doing so, they are better positioned to focus on core business processes related to their business. Cloud computing innovation can save time and money by enhancing their ability to conduct business on a larger scale with a smaller footprint and increased efficiency. A significant number of SME cloud users can show cost savings and increased profit margins since migration to the cloud. Additionally, cloud computing has removed the necessity of having an on staff IT team to manage in house servers and hardware, opening up more resources to be applied elsewhere.
