I. How would you describe the architecture Dr. Schadt uses to do his research?
Dr. Schadts manages a large amount of data that requires the capacity of a supercomputer and flexible accessibility; however, because of the way Dr. Schadts operates his research, a centralized network can’t be used; he needs to be able to work anywhere at anytime. In this case, Dr. Schadt’s needs computing capabilities that can handle a large amount of data of a large company, which can be accessed anywhere and any time. Also, Dr. Schadt’s company is a nonprofit organization so expenses must be reduced as much as possible. By using cloud computing allows Dr. Schadt’s to have the same capabilities as a having a supercomputer, where large data can be uploaded, manipulated and retrieved, anywhere and anytime. According to Beal, V. (n.d.), “Cloud computing is a type of computing that relies on sharing computing resources rather than having local servers or personal devices to handle applications” (para. 1). Dr. Schadt’s will be purchasing only what he needs rather than buying additional computers. Another, reason I would advice using cloud computing is because its software will be designed and configured based on the nature of the business. Finally, since the software, applications, databases and other collaboration tool will be available in the cloud; Dr. Schadt’s will save money on the real estate, electricity and staff that the good functioning and maintenance of the network requires; then these funds can be easily used for benefit of the
