It is well established that cigarette smoking is hazardous to health and is a risk factor for many chronic diseases. Many of the dangerous chemicals in cigarette smoke are formed through the many chemical reactions that occur as the cigarette burns (The Real Cost). Cigarette smoking is responsible for causing lung cancer, heart disease, and death. Cigarettes are too harmful to be smoking because they have serious negative effects on people. Cigarette smoking produces major classes of carcinogenic compounds including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, arylamines, and heterocyclic amines. Lung cancer is one of the most common causes of cancer deaths in the world (Medical News Today).
