From the picture of “what shall we do with our boys,” the Chinese worker has eleven hands and his clothing and shoes are totally different than the white people’s dressing. The Chinese worker wears dirty clothes and his face is distorted. The Chinese worker should felt very unhappy, yet he still had to continue his tasks. The Chinese immigrants’ lives were very hard, as the white people had push them to do multiple tasks at a time in a dark room. Yet, they had no choice but to work hard to support their families. It shows that they had been treated very badly in the white society. Also, they had been characterised as “outsider,” since every chinese man had special pigtail on their head. They also have been defined as “pig”, which was a pervasive stereotype attributed to the Chinese. The Chinese Exclusion Act was definitely a horrible law because it was so racist to the Chinese immigrants. Everyone should have the right to work hard to get a better life. Because of this, they couldn’t fulfill their wishes to bring money back to their families and they had to work hard to be able to support their basic life. Their life
