Tibet and China have had problems getting along for a very long time. In 1910 China invaded Tibet, but in 1913 Tibet was able to fight them back and gained their independence back. This however was not the first nor was it the last time China invaded Tibet. China again invaded Tibet 37 years later, one year after Mao Zedong came to power in China. Mao Zedong was the man that made China the communist country known today. There are always two sides to every story. When China invaded Tibet, they did not look at is invading another country. They looked at as reclaiming what was already theirs. “In 1950, when the Chinese Army first came to Tibet from, they promised a socialist paradise for Tibetans,” (Sangay). The Chinese people actually believed they would make the lives of the Tibetans better, but they did not understand that they were ruining them.
