The principle of participation outlines that everyone has the right to take part in society - whether it be work, education or generally in the community. Mentioned Earlier, child asylum seekers are detained, from both education and the Australian community. By seeking to regain the opportunity to participate in school, it enables children to participate in friendship groups, education and extra-curricular activities that are offered to average Australian children. ChilOut is very similar. Their efforts to reduce the amount of detained time in detention centres allows children to adapt easier and participate in the community in which they have fled to. This is ultimately a better chance and opportunity to flourish and reach their full potential. Ultimately, by providing legal resources to advocate and fight for the right of safe citizenship in our countries is also fighting for the right of the child to participate in a flourishing community. Additionally, KIND encourages lawyers and law firms to participate in a minority of people that are in much need of legal advocates. These lawyers and law firms can then work towards and more justified life of meaning, which helps every day children to work towards human flourishing. All three stakeholders are attending to the minority that needs the most attention. The International Coalition seeks educational and community rights for a child because, currently, their own home is too unsafe for living. ChilOut seeks a reduction in child detainee time in detention centres because those children are at most risk of mental health issues. Lastly, KIND redirects lawyers to helping children fight for safety and a life. Even though there are small portions of Australian’s that are affected by these aspects, they have access to help, where child detainees do not.
