Macbeth on a Soccer Team
Act 1:
{Mac and B walking to Duncan’s house from a soccer game for team bonding;
Run into Tiffany walking to track practice}
Mac: So glad that game is over, B, did you see the way I scored that goal?! Crazy! I almost slid trying to take the ball away from that guy!
B: Absolutely! And the way I passed that ball to you? There’s no way you could have made that winning goal without my help!
{They both laugh; runs into Tiff and fearfully back away making disgusted noises}
Mac: Speak if you can. What are you?
Tiffany: All hail, Mac! Hail to thee, Thane of the varsity soccer team!
B: What the hell is she talking about?! Speak, then, to me, who neither beg nor fear your favors nor your hate.

Yes, that’s great. Um, look I should get going, my girlfriend is waiting for me, I promised I’d see her after the game. I’ll see you guys next practice or whenever.
{Mac, clearly upset and angry, gets up and leaves as the boys behind him holler and tease him about his girlfriend. Mutters phrases like “I can’t believe it, I’ll show him who’s a better leader for the team”}
{Next scene; Mac texts his girlfriend, Rosalinda, about what happened after the soccer game and how he’s coming over her house to discuss it more with her.}
Rosalinda: {reading aloud, holding a phone} “I, then, encountered this girl, I think she is one of the triplets on the track team, but she told me I’d be captain of the varsity soccer team! When I tried to ask for more, she ran away! This have I thought good to deliver thee, my dearest partner of greatness.”
He has got to be kidding me. If that is what’s true, then so be it, he will be what he is promised. Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, and fill me from the crown to the toe top-full of direst cruelty. I know just the way to make him captain of this team, no one will stop me, let no one know what I intend to do.
