Change and innovation today is part of our society especially in the fast growing healthcare system that we have today and as healthcare professional we need to adapt to those changes and innovation to meet up with the fast paste of the technology that currently exist. Change and innovation always work together, According to Huber, Diane, (2013), change is a pervasive element of society and is inevitable in healthcare just as life, and he also mention that, it provide us with new ideas that effect change and new ways of doing things and solving problem in an organization. The purpose of this post is to discuss why understanding and managing change and innovation effectively is essential for good leadership competency

First we where to about a year earlier that computerize documentation will be replacing the papers documentation. We were nervous because most of us have not use a computerize system before. Some of the older nurses were making arrangement to move elsewhere if it became effective. But this was not as difficult as we thought; expert came in and started training every nurse in the facility. Training was paid for by the company and everyone was encouraged to attend as much session as they can. The changing theories element use by my company were unfreezing, moving and refreezing. Unfreezing, assessment were made on what is needed, we were inform on time and ask to offer opinion and ideas, the second stage was moving, we were all told when the change will take place and how long the transition face will take and last stage use was the refreezing stage where we were given a date line for everyone of us to start using the system with continue evaluation and reinforcement. The transition was successful even those planning to leave the company finally stay and continue working with the new system, (Huber, Diane.
