Toast POS System

Whenever someone opens any kind of business, they will need a POS system. If I were to open a small bistro I would need something that will help me run my business smoothly. POS stands for “Point of Sales System”. The system accepts debit cards, credit cards, cash and gift cards. But now-a-days, POS systems can do more than accept payments. The system can keep track of employee sales, time sheets when the employee clocks in and out the facility, inventory, an option to receive text or email receipts, system for management and many more things. I did my research on what would be best for a small bistro. I decided to go with Toast POS Systems. The Toast software has many capabilities. I chose this software because it is easy, affordable and …show more content…
For the standard system, its starting price is $100.00 per month with the core software. The 10’ handheld hardware bundle is $1,362.00 and the handheld tablet bundle is $450.00. Additional items such as inventory cost $75.00 per month, online ordering cost $50.00 per month. Toast offers free demos before purchasing the system. I believe testing a new product with no cost is a great idea that makes the company seem as if they care for the opinion from their guests. If your business purchases the Toast POS system, you will receive different training options to understand how Toast works. They have online training, in-store training and webinars which mean employees watch videos and virtually be in …show more content…
The store manager can set up how he wants to personalize the system. Unfortunately, Toast has some negative feedback with their system. The screens often freeze or has glitches which causes the system to shut down due to the unresponsive screen. Another issue is that the handhelds do not always read the credit card strip. Hopefully, Toast engineers can fix this problem. Overall I believe Toast is a great system because it is a simple POS system that is affordable for business

I have been working at Kum and Go since May 2016. In my 7 months working here I find it strange we throw away so much receipt paper. We ask every customer if they would like their receipt and about 9 out of 10 people say they don't. Now I work at a slower store in Colorado Springs and we probably go through a box of receipt paper every 2 weeks sometimes 3 boxes in a month during the summer. Now if all 422 stores in the country are using the same amount of receipt paper as my store at 3 boxes a month that's $850752 a year.…

In “Amazon opens its grocery store without a checkout line to the Public” Elizabeth Weise explains Amazon latest accomplishment, the opening of the first technology-based grocery store that “lets you browse, grab and walk out- skipping the checkout line” (Weise 1). Weise maintains that this new concept allows shoppers more freedom, as they no longer have their patience tested as they stand in long lines in order to purchase items. Now, with this first store opened for trial purposes, customers can grab any item off a shelf or put it back and sensors and an app keep track of it all. The app is connected to a payment method and shoppers can simply “just walk out” of the store (Weise 2). Weise agrees that it does eliminate grocery store jobs but…

This means that in addition to offering Apps, your website should automatically detect the device they 're coming from and adapt itself to feel like a native app for their device. On the backend, the idea of POS integration is nice at first, but the reality is that online orders need a basic level of human interaction to validate them before the cooks start to make a meal for a potentially fraudulent order. The right level of integration for most restaurants is to have one management interface that controls their web content, mobile content and online ordering from all devices - and their existing POS stays doing what it does best - in-house…
