Can Diamonds be Girls’ Best Friend?
What do you think when you think of sororities? For most people outside of the greek system you think of iconic movies such as House Bunny, Legally Blonde or Sydney White. Though these movies are entertaining, they do not accurately depict what it actually means to be in a sorority and all the benefits you can receive. I joined my sorority Alpha Delta Pi here at the University of South Carolina a little over a year ago and I can truly say it has been the best decision I have ever made. I love this sorority for several reasons mainly for the rich history, sisterhood and friendships I have made that have made me feel at home here at Carolina. I can honestly say joining Alpha Delta Pi at University of South Carolina will be the best decision you will ever make.

You will always have a sister who is up for a night out or watch the newest episode of American Horror Story with. Greek hosted events are a great way to meet new people in the interfraternity community. With ‘Greek Week’ and Homecoming there are no shortages of opportunities to get involved on campus.
Contrary to media portrayals and popular thinking, there is an emphasis on academic achievements within the greek community. Being in a sorority is beneficial for you have 400 sisters that have gone through the same classes and have notes and tips to succeed. As an ADPi, our scholarship chair makes sure to encourage us by rewarding us with gift cards during finals as well as weekly awards ‘No Lion i’m Trying!’ and ‘Hey Hey I got an A!’. No wonder we have remained number 1 in grades for the past four semesters. Our new ‘Pibary’ (ADPi library) certainly helps us to keep our 3.0 G.P.A
