Explain Why I Want To Be An Alpha Phi Alpha

I want to be an Alpha man because I see them as the epitome of what a man is. Bold, unwavering and headstrong. Being nineteen, which is still considered young and with my youth comes inexperience which is one of my problems and it’s something I know Alpha Phi Alpha will help me with. It will expose me to new situations and bring me in contact with more people and therefore expand horizons; which I would have a hard time meeting on my own. I can only imagine the amount of knowledge a 110-year-old fraternity will have. It would be an honor to able to access such a resource.
I know it would only be positive and bode well for my future. I want to be mentored by people who have traveled down the path of manhood and learn from the successes and mistakes. Alpha Phi Alpha has those people that I know will need later in my life.

Dubois, John H. Johnson and Thurgood Marshall who were bred from the wombs of Alpha. These are men that I look up to because of the profound impact they had on other African-Americans, not only inspiring them but improving their lives in some shape or form. Some of these men actions also impacted the rest world and influenced how people saw civil rights. The things all these great men had in common was their perseverance to realize their dream despite all the obstacles they faced trying to bring them to fruition and Alpha Phi Alpha. I will bring a young and ambitious mind to Alpha Phi Alpha with the will to realize his dream of improving the economies of countries in Africa, especially
