When Matt found out about revive, there were many different emotions I could detect through his dialogue, and body language. Matt was schoked, tense, mad, confused, and sad, all at the same time. “His eyebrows knit tighter and he shifts in his chair a little” (Patrick, 153), Matt’s body language can tell us he is uncomfortable, and tensed when he is listening to Daisy. After listening about revive, Matt says to Daisy, “‘[i]’m not sure if I even want to know about this... what am I suppose to do with this stuff? If it can’t do anything for Audrey.... The sadness in his eyes makes me wonder if I’ve done the right thing ” (Patrick, 154 ), (Audrey is his sister, and has cancer) Matt at this time was very sad, and curious. The description that Cat Patrick gave really helped me thoroughly understand, and feel Matt’s emotion when he found out about revive. It made me feel like I was a part of the story. Furthermore, I really enjoyed how Patrick made the antagonist a drug because, it shows that not only can people have an effect on you, but also objects and
