Over the last few years, there has been an increasing number of obese and overweight people in the UK, why is this? Not that I’ve heard of. It may be that these catchy classics are an attempt to make larger ladies feel comfortable in their own bodies although a recent hit, sung by the one and only Meghan Trainor created some confusion about her intentions during the new ‘body positive’ song, ‘All about that bass.’ Meghan basically suggests ‘every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top,’ well, if you look like her that is. Even if there are songs about anything other than ‘plus size’ being positive, I haven’t heard them or at least they aren’t popular, yet Meghan’s songs have been big hits. People are often encouraged to think overweight is normal and now specific artists are even making it seem as if fat is more attractive and all around better, which is not necessarily the case, as the prospect of this effecting my health also doesn’t seem very appealing to
